Cuts Cuts Cuts

The Chancellor has announced cuts of up to 25% across all Government departments, fair enough, that’s what they campaigned on. What’s not clear though is what the cuts mean for hundreds of thousands of public sector jobs that will go as a result of the cuts in Government spending.
David Cameron is saying that the private sector will make up for the job losses in the public sector, what he does not realize or fail to acknowledge is that most of the private small businesses depend on local government contracts for their survival and so I don’t see the private sector of being much help here and with the rise in VAT it would be a fairly difficult time for the private sector.
I support the review and cuts in the benefits system. People should be encouraged to work or find jobs and not be comfortable in just taking benefits, of course people that really need help shouldn’t be overlooked.
The next few years would be interesting to say the least, difficult decisions would have to be made and some people would lose their jobs, but at the end, Britain would be a richer, stable and more fairer place.
