The worst thing than having a mediocre Government is having an incompetent opposition. We have an opposition leader that wasn’t voted for by the majority of his party parliamentarians and only got elected thanks to the unions.
Going back to when David Cameron was elected leader of his party back in 2005, he has proven himself to be a shrewd politician and its no surprise that 5years later, he is the Prime Minister of this great nation.
Ed Miliband has to show that he is ready to reform the way his party works if Labour is ever to have a chance at the next election much like Tony Blair did in 1994 when he announced his intention to dump Clause 4 from Labour’s constitution.
What can Ed Miliband do?….he said he would look at the Coalition spending cuts and support the ones he felt were necessary though his policy now is to oppose ‘every’ policy brought forward by the coalition. Credit must be given though to him in acknowledging that Labour was wrong in going to war in Iraq something his brother would never have done if he’d had won.
People don’t really know where the Labour party stand today, do they oppose cuts altogether or just the ones proposed by the coalition and it falls on Ed to make sure Labour’s message is loud and clear. This is essential to Ed Miliband’s chances of surviving as the leader of the opposition let alone of being the next Prime Minister(I highly doubt).
